About the role

Joining our Nickel West Kalgoorlie operations, you will report to the Training Supervisor and be a part of a broader training team.  As the Training Advisor, you will implement training plans and develop resource material to ensure a high level of operator competency.  In this role, you will also be responsible for: 
  • Liaising with Superintendents, Coordinators and Supervisors on developing set routines and planning operator training;
  • Maintaining a training and compliance Training Needs Analysis matrix;
  • Ensuring training materials are developed and updated in line with standards and aligned to the Nickel West Asset Training Management Framework;
  • Providing training and assessing of operators, specialists and technicians;
  • Demonstrating visible safety leadership to promote a culture of Zero Harm through appropriate time in the field and completion of field leadership activities;
  • Ensure training activities comply with the relevant Safe Work Procedures and statutory requirements;
  • Participating in incident investigations when required and ensure training material remains relevant and up to date; and
  • As required, provide assistance to other Nickel West sites.

About You

It is essential that you possess a Training and Assessing Certificate IV and have previous experience in the mining industry would be beneficial.  By nature, you are at ease in working with a range of stakeholders and enjoy training and mentoring people to achieve great results.  You will also be a strong communicator with first class presentation skills and good listening skills that help you in knowing when and how to adapt your message.  Additionally, you will have solid computer skills and a demonstrated commitment to safety.

This is a residentially based role on a 5/2 roster.
