About the role

Based at Poitrel and reporting to the Training Projects Supervisor, this role supports new starters to transition safely into their work environment and understand site policies, expectations and safety requirements. This role will be site based and offered as DIDO from Mackay or Moranbah with a roster of 5/2,4/3. Camp accommodation and meals are provided with flexible work options considered.   In this role you will:
  • Support the mobilisation of  new starters and facilitate scheduled and ad-hoc on-boarding training (theory and/or practical training)
  • Coordinate training: On-Boarding, re-assessments/ current skills, new skills, VOCs and licensing
  • Identify training needs, and develop, update and continuously improve onboarding curriculum
  • Build relationships with a range of key stakeholders and facilitate regular engagement meetings
  • Be a proactive team member and show initiative in all areas of your work
  • Analyse metrics and reports to support TNA compliance for work teams 
  • Assist with forward planning of crew training requirements
  • Provide training support and guidance for specific projects such as OCE pipeline or shutdown activities
  • Obtain and upload relevant certs/licences for BHP employees and embedded contractors 
  • Provide support and assistance to end users in the use of training platforms such as eAssessment, TAMs and LMS
  • Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
  • Maintain accurate records and analyse key metrics and reports

About You

  • Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment beneficial
  • Experience in a similar role within mining or heavy industry
  • Knowledge of statutory operational requirements and change management
  • Ability to build highly effective working relationships across a range of stakeholders and working groups
  • Show initiative and work with minimal direction, being resourceful and proactive in your approach
  • Able to display effective communication skills whilst following relevant safety and work procedures
  • Strong problem solving and time management skills
