About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance Mobile the Tyre Bay Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of tyre bay staff and managing tyre bay operations to ensure safe, effective installations and repairs of tyres for use at Goonyella Riverside Mine. Goonyella Riverside Mine is a large open cut coking coal mine in the Bowen Basin 30km north of Moranbah this role is offering a Monday - Friday 5:2 roster.
As the Supervisor Maintenance (Tyre Bay) you will also be responsible for:
  • The appropriate installation of tyres including mounting, dismounting, rotating, and balancing tyres and ordering tyre installation equipment as required.
  • Manage the disposal of tyres in line with the site environmental management policy.
  • Comply with site and industry health and safety standards, manage tyre bay audits and checklists, ensure all tyre bay scheduling data and documentation is complete and kept up-to-date.
  • Supervise the tyre bay to ensure safe a working environment is maintained and that staff are adhering to tyre bay policies and procedures.
  • Manage staff performance including providing staff with required training and supporting staff development.
  • Maintain accurate and complete tyre supply inventory, utilising available special order tyre programs and oversee the tyre bay records retention policies and procedures.
  • Work with the maintenance planner to forecast and plan for tyre movements, ensuring adequate record keeping.
  • Manage associated risks in the tyre bay work area, conduct safety discussions and assessments and conduct required audits in the tyre bay work area.

About You

The successful candidate will have:
  • An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
  • Proven experience effectively leading a team.
  • Knowledge of tyre bay equipment and tyre and rim management.
  • Intermediate computer literacy skills.
  • Experience in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems such as SAP or similar is desired.
  • Prior tyre and rim installation experience preferred.
  • C class driver’s licence
  • Tyre manipulator authorisation, highly desirable but not essential.
  • Tyre OEM experience with Michelin or Bridgestone training levels would be highly regarded.
In addition to the above requirements it is preference to have the following competencies:
  • RIISAM210D Remove and fit wheel assemblies; and
  • RIISAM211D Remove, repair and refit tyres and tubes; OR
  • AURKTJ011 Remove, inspect and fit earthmoving and off-the-road tyres; and 
  • AURKTJ012Remove, inspect and fit earthmoving and off-the-road wheel and rim assemblies
