About the role

Reporting to Superintendent Mine Development, the Supervisor Shift Development is responsible for managing all aspects of shift performance. Leading a team ensuring delivery of optimum results and targets are achieved.

Key accountabilities include:
  • Ensure all safe work systems, procedures and standards are adhered to through frequent inspection of the workplace.
  • Manage the team and allocate duties to deliver the Plan and ensure all development targets are achieved.
  • Adhere to and ensure accountabilities as described in the Olympic Dam Ground Control Management Plan.
  • Prioritise maintenance activities to ensure development continuity and efficiency is maximised.
  • Liaise with other Supervisors to ensure all planned activities are able to be achieved.
  • Direct team members and resources for achievement of the Planned Schedule.
  • Manage training, leave and absences to ensure adequate manpower available to achieve the Plan.
  • Manage conflict/stress within the team and monitor team morale to identify factors affecting performance.
  • Be proactive in suggesting “Development Improvements” to the Development Superintendent.
  • Ensure Shift Crews skill levels are adequate i.e. Training backups for key positions.

Please note this position is Olympic Dam based on a 7/7 roster.

About You

You will have the ability to set challenging goals and standards of performance to ensure the team is performing consistently under pressure to meet timeframes, budget and output targets.

To be considered, you will have demonstrated the following:
  • Experience in processing industries
  • Supervisory experience in a similar environment
  • Sound knowledge of all development operating procedures and standards
  • Experience in relevant underground equipment
  • Solid background in underground Development, or similar
  • Hold a Supervisor's Certificate
