About the role

We seek highly motivated individuals to join our dynamic Inventory team as an Inventory Analyst. This role will execute Inventory Management processes in a timely and effective manner, adhering to defined policies and procedures.


Core Accountabilities
  • Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
  • An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
  • Work collaboratively with Inventory and other colleagues to optimize and deliver sustainable inventory strategy outcomes via Oniqua (OAS), MRP mgmt., and regional stakeholder engagement.
  • A core focus of this role will be driving world class performance through (while also taking into account the local context of the region they are supporting):
    • Review and management of OAS work queues, monitoring OAS exceptions, and optimizing OAS settings. This includes detailed reviews related to material criticality, inventory levels, insurance/spares, obsolescence, and shared stock
    • Analysis of Fleet Master Data, Return to Warehouse, Parts Availability performance.
    • Frequent engagement with regional stakeholders in managing forward inventory strategy and immediate working capital improvement tasks.
    • Answer ad hoc queries, drumbeat PA meetings and continuous improvement collaboration
    • Ensure operational best practices and standardization by ensuring cataloguing alignment with, and compliance to, internal controls including Group Level Documents and SOX controls
  • Participate and support activities such that Logistics meets the Business Plan, Department and Global KPIs are met
  • Assist the Lead Inventory Analysis in resolving complex issues, review of work allocation, and any associated activities to manage team’s performance
  • Assist the Lead Inventory Analysis to continuously update and improve procedures and Quick Reference Guides (QRG) documentation for the Team.

About You


  • Bachelor’s degree and / or similar qualification in a commercial, business, supply chain and/or technical discipline
Experience & Technical Competencies
  • Pragmatic commercial outlook and exemplary judgement (balances business value vs. risk) to deliver best outcome for BHP
  • Demonstrated experience with Inventory Analysis & Supply Chain Strategy
  • Collaborative mind-set and advanced interpersonal skills.
  • Capable in building constructive long term relationships.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in complex and ambiguous environments
  • Ability to think laterally to independently resolve issues and influence change.
  • Autonomous, detail oriented, organised, and objective.
  • Communication skills enabling the influencing of a diverse stakeholder group
  • Ability to support Supply Leaders to deliver upon department KPIs.
