About the role

As a Heavy Duty Mechanical Fitter, you will work within the field maintenance team in Western Australia.This role provides support to the team, by adhering to operating requirements and ensuring individual, team and site objectives are met, while maintaining an enthusiastic and safety focused approach to safety including:
  • Promote and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
  • Provide mechanical trade skills to perform unplanned maintenance
  • Assist with planned maintenance work where applicable
  • Provide feedback to the maintenance supervisor on job/task progress
  • Develop a close working relationship with personnel to ensure that all plant downtime issues are escalated correctly and rectified immediately

About You

To be successful with this role, you will possess:
  • Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm's way
  • Trade qualifications in mechanical trade (essential)
  • Previous experience with a range of mobile mining fleet and equipment including excavator and drill rigs
  • Competent in mechanical fault finding, servicing and maintaining mobile mining plant
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously when required
  • A team player with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels
  • Exposure to asset management principles in particular overall equipment effectiveness
  • Strong presentation, communication and coaching skills
  • Ability to work closely in a team environment
  • Exposure to FIFO or shift work desirable
