About the Role
Reporting to the Lead of Tax Operations - Americas, this role provides efficient, accurate and timely delivery of tax accounting, compliance, and stewardship processes, dominantly focus on Indirect Tax matters. This includes tax accounting processes, external reporting requirements, indirect tax and withholding tax compliance, process improvement initiatives. You will collaborate closely with the region tax, finance and accounting teams to manage tax-related matters efficiently and effectively.
Core Accountabilities:
- Conformance with the BHP Charter, BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct, and relevant statutory obligations.
- Build and maintain good relationship with stakeholders to ensure proactive engagement in tax technical matters, and analysis.
- Preparation of tax account reconciliations and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting of tax-related financial information.
- Managing indirect tax matters, including sales and purchase ledger, collaborate with region tax team and cross-functional teams to resolve abnormal tax expenses.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and participate in special projects and initiatives related to tax compliance, process improvements, and risk management.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the 1SAP Tax Accounting Solution and Tax Software as required.
About You
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree qualification in accounting or finance; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience & Technical Competencies
- Experience working with a large corporate or professional environment.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, stakeholder engagement and ability to work autonomously and collaboratively and deliver as needed.
- Ability to analyze and support in the effective issue resolutions
- Understanding of indirect tax laws and regulations, with knowledge of international tax principles a plus.

- Fluent English, both verbal and written
- Spanish speakers have an added advantage
