About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide leadership and strong accountability of investments (Projects with Capex over ~US$1.0B) across the project lifecycle (study and execution phases) to deliver the approved business objectives within BHP Our Requirements. In addition, identify and manage the different project workstreams related with permits, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), engineering and risks within the constraints of scope, time, quality, and approved budget.
Main Responsabilities:
- Responsible for preparing and presenting the internal review process (Internal Peer Review, IPR) and governance process for progressing the project into the next project phase (study and execution) up to the hand over to the operation.
- Support the Project Manager during the study phases and execution phase, sharing the custody of the Key Value Drivers of the project during the project life cycle.
- Responsible to manage contractor's resources with decisions and contractual agreements.
- Must permanently agree and negotiate with suppliers and service providers companies, as a result of ground interference, scope changes or new scopes.
- Leads the integration of inputs from contributing Functions for preserving project key value drivers.
- Drives best value decision-making to ensure the project moves forward, minimizing delays and setbacks in the drive to attain project KPI’s. Leads stakeholder engagement and ensures stakeholders are aligned with project KVD.
- Drives implementation of project delivery processes, strategies, systems and execution plans.
About You
- University Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Process).
- Desirable experience of 20 years in the mining industry leading projects in study phases and execution.
- Proven experience of 15 years on similar positions in projects over US$500M of investment.
- Professional with practices to work with autonomy, flexibility and sense of urgency.
- Ability to work collaboratively and coordinate efforts with colleagues, suppliers, and contractors towards a common purpose.
- Proven safety management and Proven change management skills.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Fluent English (required) and Spanish written and spoken.
