About the Role
Olympic Dam is one of the world's most significant deposits of copper, gold, and uranium. Located 560 kilometres north of Adelaide, South Australia, Olympic Dam is a part of our Minerals Australia operation. It's made up of underground and surface operations and operates a fully integrated processing facility from ore to metal.
The Asset Management Planner (Smelter) is responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating work plans for assigned Equipment Type / Area of Responsibility in accordance with the 1SAP Work Management Processes and the Total Equipment Strategy.
This role is within our Integrated Operations team and works closely with Maintenance Execution crews to ensure the area equipment is maintained safely and reliably, as well as delivering continuous improvement to work plans.
You will utilise innovative approaches, tools, and technology to add real value to our teams – setting new standards to guide improvement activity, transforming services, and supporting our people.
Please note this role is based in Adelaide on a Monday-Friday roster with hybrid work arrangement, with occasional travel to site required.
In this role you will:
- Plan work in accordance with the 1SAP Work Management process, accurately identifying the required components and resources prior to scheduling
- Arrange specialist or external resources (where required) to support the completion of complex work
- Monitor the Parts Availability Tracker (PAT) and liaises closely with Supply to ensure parts and rotatable materials are delivered on time
- Improve SAP Master Data to embed Standard Work Packages into Task Lists
- Provide technical and system support to develop the broader team
- Support the automation of planning processes by proactively turning tacit knowledge into system-embedded information
- Identify opportunities for standardization across sites
- Verify and optimises strategies using Asset Health Evaluator inputs and liaises with the strategy owner to recommend a course of action
- Monitor asset health inputs to identify maintenance requirements not yet in 1SAP or opportunities to align bodies of work that were necessary for an asset, or asset classReview PM03’s to determine plans that need to be restarted and liaises with Strategy Optimisation or Site Reliability Engineers to ensure this is actioned
About You
- Demonstrated relevant experience in maintenance planning or smelter maintenance within the resourcing sector
- Well-developed knowledge of mechanical maintenance equipment or technical understanding of Condition Monitoring and Asset Health Principles
- Good knowledge of planning & scheduling and the Work Management processes
- Good knowledge of Cost Management and Forecasting processes
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships
- Knowledge of SAP (or an equivalent ERP system) is required
- While it is not mandatory, a Trade qualification or Engineering degree will be deemed advantageous
