About the Role

 

Through BHP’s Future Fit Academy we are providing a nationally standardised curriculum for trade apprenticeships and maintenance traineeships. Campuses have been established in Forrestfield in Perth and Mackay in Queensland. They include virtual reality simulation training and full mobile equipment and fixed plant workshops.

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Auto Electrican to come and be part of this amazing opportunity to develop our future workforce at our Forrestfield facility.

The role is based in Forrestfield and will involve working an 8/6 roster – (8 days on, 6 days off, 1 day on, 7 afternoons on, 6 days off), rosters are subject to change based on business requirements.  These roles are not FIFO. The Trainer - Apprenticeships will work closely with the students in both classroom and workshop sessions as well as working with the Supervisor Apprenticeships, Specialist Apprenticeships and relevant subject matter experts to ensure that the training materials are kept current and relevant to the trade.

About You

 

If you are a qualified Auto Electrician Tradesperson and are passionate about developing others, we are looking for you. While a Cert IV TAE is highly desirable, we may be able to assist in attaining this - for the right candidate.

Qualifications & experience:

  • Must hold a relevant trade qualification in:
    • Auto Electrical
    • ARC Licence (desirable but not essential)
    • Or have equivalent experience in the above trade



Ideally you will possess a high number of the following skills and qualifications:
 

  • Experience as a Trade qualified Auto Electrician

  • Willingness to set example and implement change, as well as influence, coach and model BHP values and behaviours.

  • Willingness to learn and grow within the role. Diversity of thought and practical experience will be embraced.

  • Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships across a range of team members and stakeholders.
