What You’ll Experience as a BHP Technology Graduate
Technology is at the heart of BHP’s future, and we’re looking for graduates who want to be part of the team driving that change. From designing smarter digital tools to supporting autonomous fleets and advanced data platforms, you’ll help deliver technology that keeps our operations safe, efficient and future‑ready. You’ll be working in teams who collaborate deeply, support your growth and put wellbeing first.

Depending on your discipline, you could contribute to automation, operational technology, cloud engineering, data and analytics, or digital product development; all of which underpin how our iron ore, copper and coal operations run every day.

Throughout the two year program, graduates will complete 4 x 6-month rotations in various teams in which they will develop the Technology skills necessary with the intention of being placed into a specialist position at the conclusion of the program.

During these rotations you will;

  • Strengthen your capability by building your innovation and problem-solving abilities to help shape improvements.
  • Learn how to communicate effectively, while building core work skills like prioritising, managing change, staying curious and developing a growth mindset.
  • One of these 4 rotations will be on site at one of our operational sites respective to your location. This could be either in Western Australia Iron Ore, Queensland Coal or South Australia’s Copper Operations.
  • Learn how the resources sector operates by collaborating with skilled people and contributing to real projects and business challenges.

About the Role
The 24-month BHP Technology Graduate Program brings people together to learn, build capability and gain confidence for the future. You’ll build on the foundations you gained at university while developing skills that support a lifelong career.

You’ll work on meaningful projects across resources, technology, decarbonisation and safe, sustainable operations, gaining hands on experience.

Join a workplace where your ideas matter, your development is prioritised and you can see the impact of your work. Many graduates say the friendships, networks and support they build during the program are among the most rewarding parts, and many of BHP’s leaders began their own careers right here.
