About The Role


We are currently recruiting for the role of Line Technical Specialist – Mining Area C. The role will be FIFO on a 5:2 / 4:3 / 9:5 roster (from Perth).

Reporting to the Line Coach, this is an excellent opportunity to join the existing deployment team to support the Mining Area C teams to sustainably embed the BOS tools and methods as we scale up to become the world’s largest Iron Ore hub.

This will be the ideal opportunity from someone looking to improve their leadership, influencing and problem solving capability.

Responsibilities include:


  • You will upskill others in problem solving skills and support the frontline and leaders to develop and sustain new ways of working.
  • You will be hands-on in implementing systemic improvement and be central to the spread of the BHP Operating System across the business.
  • You will coach frontline, supervisors and superintendents on leadership tools to foster an engaged and empowered workforce.
  • You will utilise innovative approaches, tools and technology to add real value to our assets – setting new standards to guide improvement activity, elevating and supporting people.
  • You will gain insight and training in BOS methodology and will be expected to upskill others through your work.

Skills and Other Qualifications


We are looking for individuals that are passionate about improvement- change leaders who are curious, creative, self-starting and have a bias for action. This will be the ideal opportunity from someone looking to improve their leadership, influencing and problem solving capability.

To be successful you will demonstrate the following:


  • Ability to identify and deliver improvements, lead change with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions.
  • Experience in execution supervisor and/or data analytics.
  • Ability to learn production and maintenance systems and data.
  • Ability to engage at all levels of the business from front line employees to higher level management.
  • Show care and a passion to develop others.
  • Although it is desirable that you already have continuous improvement experience, you will receive full BOS training to support your role and ongoing mentoring and guidance from experienced Coached to ensure your success.
