About the Role

 


We are seeking highly skilled and experienced fitters for our Breakdowns team across our Western Australian Iron Ore sites, on a 8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on, 7 nights off, fly in - fly out roster.


In your role, your primary duties will include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Repairs, inspections, and breakdown maintenance on a variety of equipment including AH Komatsu 930E-5 haul trucks, Caterpillar ancillary equipment, such as D10T-2, 18M, 24M,854K and WA1200 
  • Initiating updates to work procedures to ensure they are accurate and relevant to equipment
  • Providing input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and assisting in the implementation of the new initiatives in a constructive way
  • Demonstrating a focus on safety, achievement and team engagement in all aspects of work

 

 

About You


As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

 

  • Australian Recognised Heavy Mechanical Qualifications
  • Komatsu haul trucks, Caterpillar ancillary equipment, WA1200 highly desirable
  • Demonstrated diagnostics and breakdown experience with ideally both trucks & ancillary equipment
  • Dogging, Rigging and Forklift Licenses are desirable
  • Valid Australian Driver's Licence essential
  • A commitment to safety, quality and attention to detail and procedure
  • Computer literacy and/or experience in 1SAP
  • Safety first mentality
