About Potash
The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon. BHP’s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.
Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production planned for late 2026. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. Work Location
This role will be based at the Jansen Mine Site located in Leroy, SK. The work schedule for this role will initially be 8x80, transitioning to seven days on, seven days off (7x7) at a future determined date.
As this role is not eligible for accommodation in the site camp, the incumbent must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Jansen site. BHP offers domestic relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. Benefits offered as part of the relocation program include (but are not limited to) new home purchase assistance, temporary accommodations, home finding trip and a relocation allowance.
Purpose
Reporting to the Superintendent Processing, The Surface Production Coordinator will initially provide operational readiness support. This includes, creation of work instructions and operational procedures, assist with HAZOP reviews, development of operational checklists and assist with factory authorization testing. As the project progresses to operations, this role will support the production team by analysis and interpretation of production data, monitor production schedule and KPI targets. This role will work closely with maintenance planning and scheduling to ensure maintenance tasks are communicated to the operations team.
About the Role
In this role, you will:
- Assist Surface Production Supervisor with daily toolbox meetings.
- Input data into the daily sift log for crossover meeting with the backshift.
- Area owner for equipment and operations review of maintenance planning.
- Main contact for operational contractors
- Provide unplanned tasks to the Operations Schedule to support area optimization.
- Responsible for issuing work permits and energy isolation permits.
- Coordinate plant trials request from technical services teams.
- Monitor end to end processing production performance and operating conditions to increase recovery, achievement of production targets and optimize inputs.
- Track metrics to discover areas for improvement.
- Promote compliance and improvement of work instruction and operational procedures.
About You
- 5+ years experience in mining/plant production environment.
- Proficient with computer and information technology
