We are seeking applications for talented and future Study / Project Managers; Project Engineers; Discipline Engineers and Operational Readiness professionals. These positions are required to support the formation of two new project teams to develop and deliver the Olympic Dam Mine and Concentrator Growth and Carrapateena Expansion projects within BHP’s Copper South Australia Major Projects team.
Location and Roster -You will be Adelaide based, Monday-Friday. with site visits as required by the role to ensure stakeholder engagement and alignment.

Operational Readiness Lead(s).
The strategically important Olympic Dam Mine and Concentrator Growth (MCG) and Carrapateena Expansion (CXP) projects seek to increase concentrate production as a feed to an expanded Smelter and Refinery at Olympic Dam (separate project). Currently in Identification Phase Studies (Pre-Feasibility), the MCG and CXP projects are examining options for growth within the Olympic Dam value chain, upstream of the Smelter. It includes alternate underground mining methods, mine materials handling infrastructure, concentrate processing, tailings storage facilities and non-process infrastructure.
Responsibilities will vary for each role:
Project Studies Manager / Lead: Project management and facilitation. Accountable for project outcomes within their assigned span of control (e.g. underground mine or surface processing).
Project Engineering Area Manager / Lead: Collaboration with, and performance management of external engineering services providers. Owner’s team engineering design facilitation.
Discipline Engineering Principal: Technical input into engineering framing documents. Engineering design efficiency, effectiveness (quality and cost) and integration.
Operational readiness Area Manager / Lead: In close collaboration with Operations stakeholders, set strategic direction for operational readiness. Develop operational readiness deliverables and work with stakeholders to gain endorsement to enable effective final project handover.
About You:

An overwhelming commitment to health and safety.

At least 5 years’ experience in study / project management, engineering management, mine or processing operations and / or operational readiness.

Hard rock mining and base metals processing experience preferred.

Experience in leading teams (direct or indirect reports) and managing objectives.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, equivalent degree or relevant trade.

You’re an effective communicator and will listen to what other people say and share your point of view in a constructive and collaborative manner.
