About the Opportunity
Newman Operations Dewatering are currently seeking an experienced Field Service Technician for servicing and maintaining the reliability of our diesel-driven water pumps and generators. These roles are based on a 8/6 or 8/20 days shift only roster FIFO from Perth.
While pump & generator experience is preferred, it is not essential however, diesel engine experience is essential with a willingness to upskill and learn
Typical duties will include:
- Carry out scheduled service, inspections and repairs to diesel-powered water pumps & generators in the field.
- Perform routine checks and troubleshooting of pumps and diesel engines.
- Ensure all equipment is functioning efficiently and safely.
- Attend breakdowns and diagnose issues in the field.
- Recording of servicing information in Fiori/1SAP and other documentation.
- Demonstrate compliance with BHP policies and procedures
- Implement, adhere and work to improve the current safety processes at BHP
About You:
- Trade qualification - Diesel Mechanical or Mechanical Fitting
- Basic Dewatering knowledge advantageous
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Exceptional time management skills
- Ability to priorities competing requirements and adapt to change
- Willingness find and improve better ways of working
Essential Criteria:
- Relevant Trade Certificate – Mechanical or Mechanical Fitting (or significant relevant work experience)
- Experience in a similar role maintaining diesel-powered water pumps & generators
- Current West Australian Driver’s Licence. (HR-MR advantageous)
- Demonstrated OH&S Awareness.
- White card
Software knowledge Requirements:
- Technically proficient / Computer savvy
- MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- SAP /Fiori knowledge advantageous
