About the Opportunity

 

Newman Operations Dewatering are currently seeking an experienced Electrician to work with our site maintenance team to carry out inspections and preventative maintenance of pumping systems and pipelines. 

 

Typical duties will include:


•    Carry out scheduled service, inspections and repairs of pump stations, water treatment plants, pipelines, and fittings
•    Commissioning of bore trailer and pump station equipment 
•    Calibrate instruments – flow meters, pressure transmitters, level transducers, communication devices
•    Troubleshooting fault finding and repairs - generators, PLC, instrumentation
•    Perform water sampling, validation, and verification for water license compliance 
•    Demonstrate compliance with BHP policies and procedures
•    Implement, adhere and work to improve the current safety processes at BHP.

About You

 

To be suitable for this role you will be required to have the following skills/experience;

 

•    Trade qualification - Cert III electrotechnology electrician
•    Cert IV in Electrical - Instrumentation or good understanding of instrumentation advantageous
•    Basic pump and plumbing knowledge
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
•    Exceptional time management skills 
•    Ability to prioritise competing requirements and adapt to change

 

Essential Criteria:


•    Experience in a similar role maintaining water treatment / water transfer systems
•    Current West Australian Driver’s Licence
•    Demonstrated OH&S Awareness
•    Demonstrated ability to find and improve ways of working

 


Software knowledge Requirements:


•    Technically proficient / Computer savvy 
•    MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
•    SAP /Fiori knowledge advantageous
