About the Role

 

To enable the acceleration of value delivery, we are seeking a Domain Architect to support the long-term sustainability of the Control Systems and Mining Systems Domain platforms within the Coal DevOps team. This will enable our teams to rapidly deliver technology solutions that improve the lives and work of our mining teams.  
 
The Domain Architect is responsible for understanding the current state of our systems landscape and its supporting infrastructure, across the Coal sites, and defining and implementing its target state. This key role will effectively partner with stakeholders across Global, MinAu, Technology Coal and Asset teams to facilitate and influence architecture decisions and implementation which meet our business requirements and simplify our team’s ability to develop, deliver, and scale solutions across BMA. 

 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Define and implement the domain architecture roadmap based on business requirements 
  • Actively supports capital and strategic planning activities 
  • Work with Global and MinAu teams to ensure Coal Architecture remains current, and appropriately aligned to global and regional standards 
  • Seek to drive down operational costs through consolidation, simplification and operational excellence 
  • Govern the fit for purpose application of the technology architectural standards by study and project teams to ensure value and project efficiency drivers are realised 
  • Identifies and embeds emerging technologies to support architectural strategies 

About You

 

  • Proven experience in Technology Architecture across a number of Domains 
  • Understanding of how to leverage Cloud capability in a complex enterprise architecture 
  • Excellent infrastructure architecture expertise including capacity planning, environment strategy and hosting requirements  
  • Platform experience including operational excellence, cyber security, reliability, performance efficiency, and cost optimization   
  • Stakeholder engagement and Influencing skills with demonstrated problem solving 
  • Ability to drive collaboration in a cross functional team environment and work effectively across all levels in the organisation  
  • Able to define and deliver incremental uplift in architectural excellence 
  • TOGAF qualification or similar  

 

Desirable: An understanding of the mining technology landscape, including experience with/exposure to Open Cut Mining Systems Platforms (e.g.  Fleet Management Systems such as Dispatch and Minestar, Autonomous Haulage Systems such as Frontrunner, wireless network solutions such as LTE, Cisco wireless and other voice and data telemetry solutions in the mining industry) and/or Control Systems Platforms (e.g. Programmable Logic Controllers, Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition Systems, Industrial Control Systems Ethernet and Fieldbus Networks etc).
