About The Role
Caval Ridge is located in Queensland's Bowen Basin on the traditional lands of the Barada Barna people.
We are seeking an experienced Dragline Superintendent to lead a team of Supervisors responsible for the dragline and dozer teams. This role is critical to ensuring the delivery of the sites production and safety commitments in line with the strategic business objectives. The roster requires you to work 7/7 Day Shift Only and is FIFO from Brisbane or Cairns.
Reporting to the Production Manager - Overburden, your key responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the Dragline and Dozer push team to ensure safety, productivity and cost targets are met
- Oversee team of supervisors and operators
- Complete workplace inspections to monitor and verify compliance to the site SHMS
- Complete Field Leadership in line with site and department targets
- Complete risk management activities in line with the BHP framework (CCV, CET)
- Lead ICAM and 5 why investigations for significant events and HPI’s
- Review and approve mine plans for dragline fleet and dozer push (week 0, week + 1, SRF & budget)
- Complete monthly finance reviews (contract claim, accruals, PO monitoring, reporting)
- Identify and implement cost reduction and safety initiatives
- Lead and embed the BOS routines with the team
About You
You are a proven leader with a passion for safety, operational excellence, and team development. Your ability to influence, communicate, and drive performance will be key to your success in this role.
You will bring:
- Previous experience leading a dragline team as a superintendent or supervisor
- Strong people leadership skills with experience leading an EA workforce.
- A deep commitment to safety, both occupational and process related.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic team environment.
