About the Role

BHP’s US$3.6 billion South Flank is a greenfield mine and brownfield processing centre created adjacent to and within the Mining Area C operation. Located approximately 130km north-west of Newman, South Flank together with Mining Area C will become one of the largest iron ore hubs in the world, within reach of several billion tonnes of high-grade ore. South Flank will help to maximise the volume and quality of BHP’s iron ore production, which is essential for the world’s steel.

South Flank has recently reached a significant milestone in the delivery of first ore – safely, on time and on budget – underpinned by the hard work and ingenuity of our workforce.  Embracing inclusion and diversity to create a vibrant culture that represents the communities in which we live and operate, South Flank is focused on high performance, flexible work arrangements, strong Indigenous participation and gender balance.

We are currently seeking Drillers experienced with the operation of the Atlas Copco D65 down-the-hole drill rigs to join our team at South Flank.  Production Technicians in our drill & blast team are exposed to all facets of drill & blast services on-site with a large variety of physical tasks, however as a Driller, this role is integral in implementing our production goals on-site.

These positions will be offered as FIFO from Perth on a foundation roster of 2 week on (1 week days, 1 week nights), 1 week off, but those in pursuit of flexible work arrangements are encouraged to apply.

About You

We are eager to engage with people with this specific blast hole drilling experience in an open pit mining environment.

To be successful for this role, you will be a meticulous operator and committed team player with a strong emphasis on safety and a mindset that promotes a culture of zero harm.

Minimum of a C class manual driver’s licence is required, however a Heavy Rigid (HR) licence will be considered highly advantageous.
