About the Role
EMP CPPM is a new and innovative approach to mine planning for stable, predictable business plan delivery. EMP CPPM specifically centres on managing the critical paths in execution using a project management approach to reduce variability and increase bottleneck performance, delivering stable mining operations for BMA.
Based at our Peak Downs Mine site and reporting to the Manager Mine Planning, the EMP Superintendent is responsible for applying project management to operation execution and serves as the link between planning and execution. You will be responsible for ensuring the SRF Mine Plan is integrated into the 90-Day Project Activity Schedule during each rolling update, managing potential disruptions early to minimise impact on execution.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for day-to-day project management of CPPM within the operations ensuring accurate and robust representation of the mine plan in 24hr to 90 day look ahead
- 24 hr plan approvals, and CiteOps data integrity at SRF and weekly snapshots
- Maintain a strong understanding of the project plan and what is required to ensure delivery of the plan, across all teams
- Understand site critical paths, buffer risk, and enabling activities along the critical path guiding schedulers and project managers to deliver on priorities
- Accountable for the MIP/MOP process for CPPM
- Alignment of operations and planning teams with SIA actions and priorities
- Monitor and manage the plan performance using PDCA cycle, escalation protocol and TARPs
- Identify and assess risks, making informed decisions, using BHP's risk management framework, and building a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes
- Develop the best probabilistic plan and delivering on the plan to enable continuous improvement & safe, stable operations.
- Embody all of the BOS practices to deliver sustainable standardised work practices that optimise safety, volume and cost
- Adherence to WILO >80% measured weekly
- Promote regular problem-solving sessions or RCAs with team members to identify ways to solve issues
- Provide continuous high-quality feedback through role and process confirmations
- As this role is identified to provide 7 day coverage, weekend duty management coverage will be required
About You
This is a unique opportunity to utilise your critical thinking skills to manage safety and productivity improvements. Your ability to assess, evaluate and prioritise system risks as well as identify, engage, and influence a wide range of stakeholders will be key to your success in this role.
- Demonstrated experience in production and/or mine planning role. Experience as Superintendent would be advantageous
- Mine Planning Experience at Lead/Senior Engineer or demonstrated experience in production coordinator level as a minimum
- Proven project management experience
- BHP Operating System knowledge and experience, in particular leading and facilitating problem solves
- Excellent time management skills
- All site statutory competencies. Authorized as a Supervisor on site and attain G2 competency
