About the role

We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest from motivated and capable employees interested in a 6 month secondment opportunity as Flight Coordinator role within BMA People Logistics Team (I&S).

This role provides a great opportunity to gain exposure to our charter flight operations. A key component within the I&S Logistics & Accommodation Stream enabling our site operations with the right flights at the right time to support every shift, every day.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating daily charter flight logistics & disrupt management for operational continuity.
• Analysis of capacity vs. demand trends & identification of optimisation opportunities.
• Leading & supporting improvement initiatives to increase utilisation, remove waste and deliver a charter flight schedule that meets our customer’s needs.
• Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to align on process standardisation, service expectations & value delivery.
• Provide leadership & coaching to the GBS People Logistics Team on the application of the charter flight strategy.

The primary purpose of this role is to support the BMA Charter Flight Schedule and ensure operational continuity during periods of disruption. The successful applicant must be flexible and available to work adjusted 8-hour shifts, including early morning, daytime and evening shifts aligned to charter flight movements and business needs.

This role operates on a rotating roster with shifts ranging from a 4:00am start to a 10:00pm finish, Monday to Friday. Flexibility to work varying start and finish times, and to adjust hours in response to flight disruptions and changing operational demands, is essential.

This role is based in Brisbane/Moranbah and may require travel to site from time to time.
