Located 472 kilometres north-west of Adelaide, South Australia, Carrapateena is part of our Minerals Australia operations, within the Copper South Australia province. The mine is located on the traditional land of the Kokatha people. Carrapateena produces copper concentrate and is one of the largest mining projects in South Australia in the last decade.
Please note this position is based at Carrapateena, offered on a FIFO (from Adelaide) basis and operating on an 8/6 DAYS ONLY roster pattern arrangement.
About the role
We currently have multiple roles available for qualified Project Electrical Technicians to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for executing a variety of Project Electrical activities within an operational mining and minerals processing environment. Your work will contribute to optimal production, equipment performance and availability, as well as improving reliability and ensuring that we are well placed for future growth within our operations.
In this role you will:
- Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
- Carry out electrical work on a variety of new and existing projects
- Utilise your electrical project and installation knowledge to execute daily tasks
- Assist in resolution of electrical issues
- Develop and revise project related procedures and work instructions
- Communicate project status to appropriate personnel and departments
- Maintain a high level of housekeeping in all work areas
About you
- Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way
- Australian recognised Electrical Trade qualifications (essential)
- South Australian A-class Electrical Workers license, or ability to obtain
- Experience working in a similar role with exposure to Electrical project and installation work within an operational mining and minerals processing environment
- C Class Manual Drivers Licence and experience
- Ability to operate an Integrated Tool Carrier (IT), or willingness to learn
- Working at Heights accreditation and experience, or willingness to learn
- Good understanding of interactions between mining and other site functions such as projects, construction, maintenance and processing
- Experience in design and installation of LV electrical reticulation
- Ability to develop Certificates of Compliance and other technical documents such as as-built drawings
- Intermediate level of computer literacy (MS Office Suite of programs)
