About the Role

There is a current opportunity for an Electrical Technical Officer to join our team. This position can be worked as a FIFO or Residential. The position is based in Port Hedland on an 8:6 Roster
 
Reporting to the Lead Locomotive Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Responsible for analysing and investigating Main Line Delays from the RTU database and ensuring that the Loco MLD register is up to date. 
  • Identifying current and potential risks and chronic failures through the analysis of MLDs and through GEMBAs/ Field Leaderships and other interactions with the Execution Team
  • Assist in RCAs for severe events or defects from EMS or MLDs  
  • Working closely with other stakeholders to help identify the root causes of defects and develop sustainable solutions
  • Supporting the Execution Team by providing technical assistance and coaching/mentoring maintainers with troubleshooting, 5-Whys and PPS.
  • Be a Champion for Workshop Quality to reduce Long Termers and Repeat Offenders in the fleet. Identifying and sharing the learnings with different shifts from the Execution Team.
  • Assist in the development or review of changes to WINs and SW
  • Ensure the calibration of tools and measuring devices are recorded and the appropriate registers are up to date.
  • Review the integrity of electrical statutory documents and records and communicate any gaps to shift leaders to be rectified.

About You

 As the successful applicant you will possess the following: 

 

  • Electrical Trade background with experience working with Locomotives. 
  • Current full West Australian “C” class motor vehicle license or current equivalent Australian State motor vehicle license 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and 1SAP
  • A calm, analytical and logical mindset.
  • Ability to manage 360° and work and communicate with both engineers, frontline and management
