About BHP Potash – Jansen
BHP’s Jansen Potash Project located approximately 140 km east of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is BHP’s first potash project. Jansen will add diversity and a Canadian presence to BHP’s global portfolio. Jansen’s large resource endowment provides the opportunity to develop it in stages, with anticipated initial capacity of 4.35 Mtpa. The BHP Board has recently sanctioned Jansen Project (Stage 1), with a US $5.7 billion investment. The project is now entering the construction phase, with the first potash expected in 2026.
Work Location
This role will be based at the Jansen Mine Site located in Leroy, SK. The work schedule for this role will be seven days on, seven days off.
As this role is not eligible for accommodation in the site camp, the incumbent must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Jansen site. BHP offers domestic relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. Benefits offered as part of the relocation program include (but are not limited to) new home purchase assistance, temporary accommodations, home finding trip and a resettlement allowance.
Purpose
We are excited to share that we are recruiting for permanent positions for Electricians (including Instrumentation) for our Jansen Mine. These roles will commence on site in April 2024.
These positions are responsible for executing planned and unplanned maintenance activities within the hoisting, shafts, and underground mining environment. Your work will contribute to optimal production, equipment performance and availability, as well as improving reliability and ensuring that we are well placed for future growth within the mine.
About the Role
In this role you will:
• Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
• Carry out unplanned and planned routine maintenance, inspections, and checks to underground equipment, or reticulation networks
• Assist in resolution of electrical / mechanical issues affecting equipment performance and availability
• Review and update maintenance schedule plans and equipment history
• Transport cable and equipment safely to job locations, and assist in the set up and installation
• Provide trade skills to perform care maintenance tasks within the mine area, to ensure overall reliability and stability
• Develop and revise operating and maintenance procedures
About You
• Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way
• Electrical / Mechanical Trade/journeyperson (essential)
• Experience working in a similar role with exposure to maintenance work
• Working at Heights Ticket (advantageous)
• Ability to work autonomously, or as part of a team
• Ability to confidently make decisions relating to your work, or escalate if needed
• Adaptable and responsive to change, as well as learning new information
