About the Role

We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced individuals to join our Olympic Dam Emergency Services, that operate across Olympic Dam’s Processing and Underground Mining operations.

 

This role will suit an experienced Emergency Service Officer looking to further their career, or an ambulance/ healthcare/fire and rescue professional who is looking to make the transition into the mining sector.

The position is based in Roxby Downs and can be supported as residential, drive-in drive-out (DIDO) or fly-in fly-out (FIFO) on a 7:7 day and night roster.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

 

  • Responding to all site fire, rescue and medical emergencies
  • Maintain operational emergency response equipment and vehicles
  • Participate in training sessions, knowledge sharing and scenario-based exercises for the onsite emergency service volunteers
  • Committing to ongoing personal development to maintain or improve skills and qualifications

 

About You

You will be committed to making a positive difference in the health and safety of others, enjoy working outdoors and be comfortable undertaking a range of physically demanding activities during your day.

 

You will have:

 

  • Cert IV Healthcare or higher and/or
  • Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue or Cert II in Public Safety or higher  
  • C class driver’s license (HR preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A proactive drive towards continuous improvement
  • The ability to obtain a satisfactory National Police Clearance and Working With Children’s Check
     

Applicants with any of the following are strongly encouraged to apply:

 

  • AHPRA Registration (Paramedic/RN)
  • Previous/current experience in a similar Emergency Service Officer role
  • Previous/current experience in a State Emergency Service role
  • Previous/current experience in Underground Mining Environment
  • Drug and Alcohol Testing Qualification
