About the Role

 

As the Area Reliability Engineer, you will be required to control and monitor site infrastructure to ensure compliance to all relevant Australian Standards, whilst also applying reliability engineering principles, tools and techniques to identify and rank the major production loss/high-cost contributors for the process plant equipment across our Olympic Dam operations. You will be required to provide technical reliability & strategy support and support implementation of sustainable solutions for the operations.

 

In this role you will:

 

  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety by actively engaging in time in field & Field Leadership
  • Review and analysis condition monitoring reports and maintenance strategies and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Exercise a proficient level of technical knowledge and expertise to independently make informed decisions and provide engineering support to execution.
  • Improve the performance and capability of the fixed plant equipment, through leadership of technical personnel in engineering disciplines and reliable decision making
  • Reviews value tracking from sites on equipment types, benchmarking and maintenance function requests to create business cases for initiating asset/maintenance strategy process improvements.
  • Implement maintenance work plans to validate the integrity of plant, equipment and infrastructure in accordance with defined standards and procedures.
  • Regularly measures operational results against defined benchmarks and analyses business metrics to determine and monitor when contingency plans should be implemented.
  • Conduct thorough problem solving and/or investigations (RCA) into plant performance issues and implement sustainable solutions to mitigate risk and eliminate defects.
  • Review & provide input into development of budgets for the assets.
  • Identify and assess risks, makes risk informed decisions, using our risk management framework and build a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
  • Foster effective and productive working relationships across all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drives a continuous improvement mind-set by actively identifying, developing, and delivering improvement opportunities and initiatives to eliminate waste.

 

About You

 

You will join our dynamic and results-driven team providing specialist advice, affecting the defect elimination process and undertaking reliability improvement work. Your role will focus on the end-to-end maintenance system, inclusive of parts, procedures, work quality and processes.

 

Your role will require you to ensure that all issues are solved completely to their root cause. You will monitor and contribute to maximising the “whole of life cycle” of equipment performance and aim to reduce total costs associated with equipment failures. Another key responsibility in this role is to ensure the application of reliability principles to new equipment installations to maximise plant availability at the conceptual and design phases.

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent trade qualifications.
  • Communicate effectively and clearly to cross functional stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions.
  • Highly engaged, collaborative and committed to building mutually beneficial relationships across functional teams.
  • Have strong operating discipline and organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of engineering drawings, OEM equipment specifications and recommendations, condition-based monitoring results and maintenance history to influence plant maintenance strategies.
  • Experience identifying risks, conducting risk analysis, risk prioritisation and controls to monitor and manage risks to enable the achievement of project outcomes.
  • Experience in operating systems including SAP, work management, strategy development and lean six sigma will be an advantage.

This role is based at Olympic Dam (FIFO from Adelaide, DIDO from regional South Australia or Residential to Roxby Downs) on 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off roster OR 7 days on, 7 days off roster.
