About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Mine Scheduling Engineer to join the Short-Term Scheduling team at Olympic Dam. Through collaboration with execution, planning and design teams, you will deliver a schedule that enables safe, efficient and productive mining to achieve our mine vision.
This position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on an 8/6 roster with residential, DIDO or FIFO options available.
In this role you will:
- Be a safety leader, demonstrating your commitment to health, safety and environment responsibly;
- Deliver a rolling 28 day plan, building towards a rolling two month plan, all whilst considering mine priorities. We’re currently in the process of transitioning to Deswik Ops for all short-term scheduling;
- Liaise with stakeholders to produce an accurate & comprehensive mine area plan, ensuring all scheduled activities have been scoped & integrated into the mine schedule;
- Monitor execution of the week 0 schedule to drive compliance and maintain focus on critical path activities;
- Effectively liaise with our mid-term planning and engineering teams to supplement the building of a comprehensive five year plan;
- Support the schedule escalation process through investigation & documentation of variance; and
- Identify & implement process improvements to benefit our customers & the overall value chain using our BOS principles.
About You
- Mining Engineering qualifications or an aligned discipline with significant operational experience
- Previous experience with Mine scheduling/mine planning in hard-rock underground mining operations
- Mining experience across different execution disciplines, mine production, development, rehabilitation & mine services is beneficial
- Knowledge of sub level open stoping extraction method
- Understanding of ventilation systems & networks
- Competent in developing planning strategies, identifying & escalating schedule threats, risks & opportunities
- Microsoft Office suite & Deswik Suite is essential, PowerBi, SAP, production reporting databases & platforms advantageous
