About the Role

 

We are currently recruiting for the role of Engineering Technician Electrical within the Rail Network Maintenance – Signals and Communications team. This is a permanent full-time role FIFO from Perth on a 14 Days on 14 Days off Roster or Residential from Port Hedland.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
  • An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
  • Maintaining a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Execute work orders as per schedule and relevant work instructions to a high standard and in a timely manner.
  • Assist the Electrical Supervisor with rescheduling of work, organising and coordinating resources, scoping of work and determining priorities. 
  • Initiate updates to work procedures to ensure they are accurate and relevant to equipment 
  • Coach other trades team members to enhance their technical knowledge
  • Working from schematic drawings, prints, plans or manuals, and recording any modifications
  • Respond to breakdowns and coordinate repairs and servicing on equipment
  • Preserve a high-level working knowledge of BHP safety processes and procedure

 

About You

 

  • Electrical WA ‘A’ grade license.
  • 5 years post trade maintenance experience. 
  • Excellent knowledge of AS3000.
  • Technical knowledge of Generators, Standalone Solar and Battery Systems (Highly regarded)
  • Experience in Statutory maintenance and recording results in the site electrical logbook.
  • Valid Australian C class driver’s license
  • Basic Computer Literacy with 1SAP experience advantageous.
  • The ability to work methodically and remain calm and focused in a busy and dynamic work environment.
  • The ability to work autonomously in remote locations with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
