About Mt Arthur Coal
Mt Arthur Coal is an open-cut coal mine 100 per cent owned by BHP. Located in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales it's the largest producer of energy coal in the region, operating alongside olive growers, wine makers, horse breeders and the nearby residential community of Muswellbrook. About the Role
We are currently on the look-out for motivated and capable individuals to join the Warehouse team at New South Wales (NSW) Energy Coal as New-to-Industry Warehouse Operators. No previous experience is required; we’re seeking applications from those who are passionate about joining the mining industry and would be eager to learn about all warehouse processes and complete site pass outs as part of your training.
Based at our Mt Arthur site in the Hunter Valley and reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, these roles play a key role in maintaining high standards of work to a global warehouse standard and ensuring the safe and efficient execution of warehouse operations.
In this role, you will be working closely with our in-crew trainers so you can build exposure to site practices while completing your training. As you progress in your personalised development program, you will build the skills to perform tasks such as:
- Ensuring all MHE (forklifts, reach trucks) are operated professionally and safely
- Ensuring goods are stored in a safe and satisfactory manner
- Accepting deliveries, unpacking, sorting and storing – using RF scanners to receive goods
- Control materials and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Ensuring the safe and efficient execution of warehouse tasks as per supply procedures and minor warehouse and binning maintenance
- Assisting with resolution of customer queries
These are 24-month fixed term contract positions, working 12-hour shifts on a 5:4 day and night shift roster. Successful candidates will need to be based residentially, and the mine is located a convenient 10-minute drive from Muswellbrook.

You will have the following skills and attributes:
- Minimum of C class driver’s license
- Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and within a team
- Adaptable to new technology and systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible in role requirements and undertakings
- Proven experience in meeting customer needs
