About Vicuña

BHP and Lundin Mining have formed the joint venture company, Vicuña Corp. (the JV) to develop the Vicuña Project, which encompasses the Filo del Sol (FDS) and Josemaria copper projects, located in the San Juan province of Argentina and extending into the Atacama Region of Chile. The FDS deposit is the largest greenfield copper deposit discovered in the past 30 years, and we believe the Vicuña project has the potential to develop into a global top 10 copper operation.

Work Location

Vancouver, BC office. 40 hours per week. Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP.

Purpose

Reporting to the VP Vicuña JV, The Executive Assistant is responsible for administrative activities including the development and delivery of work plans, execution of administrative functions/communications, essential data management practices and the fostering of a positive team culture to drive efficiency across operational routines.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Support the development and delivery of work plans, manage the execution of administrative functions and communications, design/carry out essential data management practices and foster a positive team culture to drive efficiency across administrative processes and operational routines.
  • Lead team planning and take responsibility for team organization including managing / coordinating team deliverables and organizing / scheduling multi-stakeholder engagements
  • Take responsibility for management of the Vancouver office including coordination with IT, building management and managing service providers.
  • Develop and communicate insights that guide data driven action and decision making.
  • Support the management of vendor/customer selection, contracts, and performance to maximise operational and financial outcomes and mitigate BHP's exposure to risk.
  • Identify, engage and manage a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Source information, plan and conduct analyses to support evidence based decision making.
  • Apply and evaluate change management tools, methods, data, purpose, value and strategic direction. 

About You

  • Experienced executive assistant who has previously supported a senior executive, with a proven ability to work autonomously, proactively establish priorities and take responsibility for time sensitive deliverables while keeping and maintaining the upmost confidentiality.
  • Strong problem solving, communication and organizational skills will be an asset - as will your attention to detail, initiative, and talent to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Advocate for leveraging digital technologies to enable collaboration and the simplification of tasks and possess strong knowledge of office suite systems.
  • Project management and budgeting skills
