About the Role

 

Our Operations - Olympic Dam

 

One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities.

Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 7/7 day/night roster pattern arrangement with residential, FIFO (from Adelaide) or DIDO options available.

 

We currently have multiple roles available for a Production Technician to join our Smelting, Casting and Acid Plant / Feed Preparation teams. In this role you will be responsible for safe and efficient operation of Smelter and Acid Plant / Feed Preparation equipment in accordance with operational procedures. This includes working in challenging environments with molten metal and acid operations.

 

In this role you will:

 

  • Execute production tasks in alignment with the production schedule and operational priorities.
  • Proactively identify, report, and address hazards to maintain a safe working environment
  • Ensure product quality and compliance with production specifications to meet customer requirements.
  • Embrace training opportunities across all equipment and plant areas to support operational flexibility.
  • Participate in field leadership activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Foster an inclusive and respectful team culture, working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

About You

 

  • Experience working in a similar role with exposure to Smelting or Acid Plant/Feed Preparation operations (desirable)
  • Current South Australian C Class driver’s licence (required)
  • Forklift licence, CB Bridge & Gantry Crane and DG Dogging licences (desirable)
  • A strong understanding of workplace safety practices, including hazard identification and risk management
  • Ability to work autonomously, or as part of a team
  • A proactive and motivated approach to problem-solving, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
