We’re seeking expressions of interest to join the Production Application Systems (PAS) team within the Technology Remote Operations Centre (TROC), based in Perth. Operating 24x7 on a lifestyle roster, the TROC team supports a wide range of safety and production-critical Operational Technology (OT) systems across Minerals Australia assets.
Shifts are 12.5 hours including handover, and you will benefit from additional shift allowances as part of your remuneration package.
PAS Specialists play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of critical production systems. Operating in a fast-paced environment, the team monitors and maintains systems around the clock, triages and troubleshoots issues, and implements improvements to reduce downtime and enhance performance. Their work is essential to maintaining safe and smooth operations across BHP sites.
This role requires a foundational understanding of application architecture, including how systems are connected, how data flows between applications, and how information moves from source systems to end-user platforms.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Completed a tertiary or vendor qualification in either a technology, science, or engineering discipline
- Previous experience working in an OT Operations Centre is highly preferred
- Previous mining/resources remote site process control experience preferred, including operational support of mission critical services
- Self-motivated and effective communicator with strong analytical problem-solving skills
- Strong ability to translate technical business requirements to non-technical audiences
- Ability to take ownership of critical incident resolution, driving incidents to closure
- Rapidly troubleshoot and solve complex technology problems to restore production system availability in a structured, timeous manner
- Review root cause of incidents and work with appropriate teams to ensure continuous improvement of the technology environment.
- Apply effective risk controls to identify potential threats and minimize or remove a service impact.
Experience supporting similar production systems as below is highly desirable but not required,
- IT Service Management processes and tools such as ServiceNow
- Access Management Systems: RightCrowd, Gallagher
- Material Tracking & Process Monitoring: MT, Delay Accounting, Dust/Moisture Tracking
- Operational Scheduling Tools: PSS DM, SchedMan
- Historian Tools: OSI PI Systems
- Laboratory Information Management Systems: Sample Manager, CCLAS
- Supply Chain & Delay Accounting Systems: AMPLA DAS, InFlight, StacksOn
- Rail Systems: Rail Historian, Rail Status Board
- Basic Windows troubleshooting
- Basic cloud computing knowledge (Azure & AWS)
- Basic SQL skills, including the ability to run queries
Operational experience within industrial or mining environments will be well regarded but is not mandatory.
