About the Role

 

  • Demonstrates and instils an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
  • Demonstrates commitments to the BHP Charter and Code of Business Conduct.
  • Contribute to BHP’s thought leadership through the provision of rigorous analysis and narratives.
  • Actively monitor development of the dry bulks and container market, translating into high quality analysis and contributing to vessel chartering strategy and value-adding decision-makings.
  • Conduct research to evaluate the impact of key thematic issues in the maritime sector and related fields, and convert findings into thematic reports with actionable insights.
  • Deliver PowerBI dashboards serving the regular data needs of various stakeholders and provide ad-hoc analysis and data requests from stakeholders.
  • Closely monitor the maritime decarbonization megatrend and lead the Freight Price Protocol (long term demand, supply and price outlook).
  • Conduct presentations to internal and external stakeholders (opportunity-based).
  • Collaboratively work with the broad analysis and maritime team and engage constructively with key stakeholders.

 

About You

 

  • Advance quantitative and qualitative research and analysis skills.
  • A track record of working in the commodity analysis, preferably in the maritime sector.
  • The ability to extract actionable insights under conditions of uncertainty and time pressure.
  • Excellent English written, presentation and stake-holder management skills.
  • Proficient Excel modeling, Powerpoint and PowerBI skill.
  • 1st class Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, with postgraduate qualifications preferred.
