About Prominent Hill
Prominent Hill is a copper–gold operation supporting Australia’s clean energy transition. As demand for copper in renewable energy infrastructure and electric vehicles continues to grow, your work will contribute directly to this important supply chain.
We work closely with Antakirinja Matu-Yankunytjatjara Traditional Owners, and this partnership is an integral part of our everyday operations.
About the Role
Reporting to the Lead Geologist, this role will work as part of the team in the Core Processing Area who support diamond drill core processes that include metre marking, core orientation, geotechnical measurements, core photography, core cutting and specific gravity measurements.
This role is based in Prominent Hill on an 8/6 roster (Dayshift only, Wednesday changeover) FIFO from Adelaide or Port Augusta.
In this role you will also:
- Process sample dispatches for offsite laboratories, ensuring PO numbers and paperwork is accurate
- Ensure effective data collection for Underground Geology records that comply with QA/QC for data collection, storage and access
- Support the safe collection and maintenance of core logging information
- Clean, maintain and service Core Shed Operations vehicles as required
About You
- Demonstrated experience working in a core yard or as a geology technician is preferred
- Understanding of sampling practices, QA/QC for data collection and logging of sample information
- Ability to work autonomously, with a proactive attitude and attention to detail
- A core focus on safety and the confidence to lead by positive example
- Forklift licence is advantageous
- Current First Aid certificate desirable
- Manual Drivers licence is required
