About the Role:


Reporting to Operations Superintendent, the Geoscience Supervisor plays a critical role in leading Geoscience programs across our sites. This position is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of geoscience activities, while fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders and delivering high-quality outcomes aligned with our Geoscience purpose: Delivering deposit knowledge to realise our full potential.

 

This role will appeal to individuals seeking a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic career opportunity. You’ll be solving technical and operational Geoscience challenges daily, working alongside a large, safety-focused, collaborative, and results-oriented team.

 

This is a FIFO-based role at one of our WAIO hubs (Central Pilbara, Newman, or Jimblebar), offered on either an 8:6 Day shift only roster (Full time) or 8:20 day shift only roster (Part time) roster.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Organisation: Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter values, Our Requirements, Code of Conduct, and all relevant statutory obligations (including WHS legislation and S26 responsibilities).
  • Safety: Demonstrate a strong commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage Geoscience operational programs (Strategic, Tactical, Hydro), monitoring and escalating variances to planned safety, operational, and cost metrics. Including strategic and tactical improvements to enhance delivery across the Geoscience Operations portfolio
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and contracting partners.
  • Leadership: Promote a values-driven, high-performance culture by leading with integrity, accountability, and respect. Empower a diverse team through collaboration and shared ownership of outcomes.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors to ensure service quality, safety performance, and alignment with operational goals.

 

 

Recommended Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • WHS Section 26 Statutory Supervisor appointment, with a minimum of two years prior supervisory experience in the mining industry
  • Qualification in Geoscience, Engineering, or Project Management
  • Experience in Geoscience operations, drilling, or earthworks
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage across multiple levels
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and drive performance in dynamic environments
  • Proficiency in Geoscience software and data management systems.
