About Potash and the Jansen Project

Located about 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Jansen is set to become one of the largest and most sustainable potash mines in the world. At approximately US$15.3 billion investment, it marks the biggest private investment in Saskatchewan’s history, and a bold step forward for BHP in Canada.

Beyond its scale, Jansen will create lasting value for people and communities. The project is expected to support approximately 5,500 jobs during construction and around 900 permanent roles once production begins.

The Challenge Ahead

As a Graduate Engineer, you'll join BHP’s structured 24-month graduate program designed to build both technical expertise and professional capability. The program focuses on developing leadership potential, strengthening problem-solving skills, supporting change, and achieving results.

Throughout the program, you'll gain hands-on experience through rotations across multiple teams, allowing you to build technical capability, work with diverse stakeholders, and broaden your understanding of a world-class mining business.

Working alongside experienced leaders and multidisciplinary teams, you’ll contribute to meaningful projects while developing the skills, confidence, and network needed to build a successful long-term career with BHP.

You will also have the opportunity to:

Key Responsibilities

• • Participate in rotational assignments across multiple teams to build technical, operational, and professional capabilities.
  • Contribute to projects that support construction, operational readiness, commissioning, and future operations.
  • Apply engineering principles, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills to deliver safe and sustainable outcomes.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technical specialists, contractors, and cross-functional teams to support project objectives.
  • Build effective working relationships while developing leadership and communication skills.
  • Utilize digital tools and technologies to support continuous improvement and business performance.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

To be considered, you will have completed a post-secondary degree within the last two years or be eligible to graduate by May/June 2027 in one of the following disciplines:

    • Geotechnical Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Process Engineering
    • Mining Engineering
    • Environmental Engineering
    • Civil Engineering

You will also bring:

• • • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • The ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • A growth mindset, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
    • Previous exposure to a construction, mining, engineering, or industrial environment is considered an asset.

Work Location

Depending on the role, opportunities are available at the Jansen Site and the Saskatoon downtown office.
