About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent HV Electrical Infrastructure, your duties as a Supervisor HV Electrical Maintenance will include:
- Ensure conformance with the BHP charter values, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations
- An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
- Demonstrate visible safety leadership to promote a culture of zero harm through time in the field and endorsement of quality risk assessments ensuring material risk controls are implemented
- Supervision of commissioning and maintenance testing of complex protection and control systems
- Supervision of HV switching, commissioning and maintenance testing on HV/LV primary plant including switchyard equipment and LV PDPs and MCCs
- Compliance with the relevant legislation including but not limited to the Mine Safety & Inspection Act & Regulations
- As an Electrical Nominee ensure that all electrical work is compliant to AS 3000 and electrical maintenance, installations and incidents are recorded in the Electrical Log Book and reported to the network regulator and associated regulating bodies
- Exercise a proficient level of technical knowledge and expertise to make informed decisions and support HV Technicians in the performance of their duties
- Provide mentoring and on the job technical training to HV technicians to further their individual technical skills and knowledge
About You
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
- WA “A” Grade Electrical License
- A current valid driver’s License
- Experience with HV electrical equipment and systems specific to mining and utilities (including diagnosis and fault-finding substations, switchgear and transformers)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills as you will work with closely with a variety of stakeholders
- Strong Leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
- Demonstrated application of performance management and development of tradespeople and apprentices
- Experience with computerised maintenance management systems (1SAP experience is highly desirable)
Location
With this role, you will be either residential or fly-in fly-out from Perth to Port Hedland on 8 days on, 6 days off roster. You will be working on Port Hedland sites, operating and maintaining the transmission and distribution electricity network across the BHP Port operations
