About the Role

 

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Diesel Fitters for our Jimblebar Field Maintenance teams.   

 

Our skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician's work at the closely located Mount Whaleback mine site, which at more than 5 kilometres long and nearly 1.5 kilometres wide is the biggest single pit open-cut iron ore mine in the world and with this comes some very impressive and large-scale machinery.

 

In your role your primary duties will include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Preventative maintenance, repairs, attending breakdowns and running complex diagnostics/testing and fault finding of mobile fleet (specifically diggers and drills) of specialist diesel machinery & equipment of significant scale.
  • Identifying and rectifying faults during inspections and following specific maintenance programs
  • Daily inspections on Mobile Fleet including Liebherr 996 and 9400 Excavators and Atlas Copco Pit Viper 271 and D65 Drills
  • Initiating updates to work procedures to ensure they are accurate and relevant to equipment 
  • Providing input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and assist in the implementing of the new initiatives in a constructive way
  • Demonstrating a focus on safety, achievement and team engagement in all aspects of work

 

 

Jimblebar 

 

You will be based at our Jimblebar mine site in the Pilbara region of Western Australia on a fly-in fly-out 8/6 7/7, on days and night shift. 
 
Our FIFO villages have a wide range of facilities and all rooms have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning to help you unwind, relax and sleep well.  
 

 

About You

 

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

 

  • Australian Recognised Heavy Mechanical/Vehicle Fitter Qualifications
  • A high level of technical experience with Diggers and Drills
  • Technically/mechanically sound skills with Leibherr, Cat and Atlas Copco are highly sought after
  • Demonstrated diagnostics and breakdown experience with Diggers and Drills
  • Dogging, Rigging and Forklift Licenses are desirable
  • A commitment to safety, quality and attention to detail and procedure 
  • Computer literacy and/or experience in 1SAP
  • Safety first and always mentality
  • The ability to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure
  • A teamwork mentality to achieve result
