About the Role:

 

We are seeking highly motivated Heavy Diesel Fitters with digger and/or drill experience (both preferred but not essential) to join the team working across various locations within WAIO operations/sites to conduct planned and/or breakdown maintenance. You will work an 8:6 7:7 rotating roster FIFO from Perth.

 

Our close-knit Field Service crews mobilise to where our specialised work is required across our BHP Pilbara Iron Ore Mine sites.  This work is predominately shutdown based providing our technicians unique exposure to Liebherr & Epiroc major outages unlike other field positions as well as working across all our Iron Ore business!  Such great exposure.  This way of working provides outstanding opportunities for future Field Specialists to commence their career with BHP.

Responsibilities include: 

 

  • Shutdowns, servicing, repairs, planned and breakdown maintenance on variety of Liebherr R9400, R996, 9600 and our Epiroc PV271 fleet.

  • Following scheduled planned / breakdown maintenance and carrying out inspections on equipment as required with a high attention

  • Execute work orders as per schedule and to a high standard to mitigate any re-work.

  • Completing inspections and repairs as per the maintenance strategies and inline with site requirements to ensure a high quality of work.

  • Scoping and creating 1SAP notifications for preventative work where required and prioritisation of daily works.

  • Contribute to a positive team culture, always working to a high degree of safety, without question.

  • Clear and respectful communications between work groups and leaders to ensure an effective work environment.

  • Assisting with mobilisation of Field Maintenance assets and containers between sites.

 

About You 

 

 

  • Trade Qualified in Heavy Diesel Mechanics

  • Previous experience in mining, in field services, digger and/or drills knowledge ideal

  • Liebherr and Epiroc knowledge highly regarded

  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team

  • Respectful behaviours and good customer service

  • Being aware of the shadow we cast when dealing with host sites and their representatives

  • Strong ability to work remotely & autonmously
