About the Role
To support growth and development within the industry, BMA is offering an Indigenous Airport Reporting Officer (ARO) Traineeship at Moranbah Airport.
This program provides a motivated and passionate individual a unique opportunity to join an experienced Airport team that supports BMA’s steel making coal mine sites across the Bowen Basin.
In undertaking this 12-month fixed term traineeship you will join our Aviation Operations team, with on-the-job industry training and support, whilst completing a nationally recognised competency.
As part of the traineeship, the individual will become responsible for the safe and efficient management of the Airport’s movement areas ensuring all critical infrastructure is serviceable to cater for both commercial and charter operations.
The opportunity includes the following:
- Twelve (12) months fixed-term traineeship
- 5/2 Roster
- Training supplied (AVISS00053 Aerodrome Reporting Officer Skill Set)

About You
- You will have an overriding commitment to health, safety and the environment.
- You will be self-motivated and driven to succeed.
- You work well in a team, are a good communicator and have the ability to work autonomously.
- You enjoy work outdoors and are comfortable undertaking a range of activities in your day-to-day role.
- Have experience with computer systems such as MS Office Suite and other online reporting programs.
- It will be a role requirement that you have a current driver’s licence and the ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), the ARO Qualification and an Aircraft Radio Operators Certificate (AROC).
- Experience in Aviation is not required.
