About the Role

 

Reporting to Lead Integrity and Superintendent Reliability, as Integrity Engineer - Tanks, you will be required to provide technical integrity support and sustainable solutions for the broader operations and engineering community for our Olympic Dam Mine. You will ensure compliance to all relevant Australian Standards and regulatory requirements, whilst also applying engineering principles, tools, and techniques to identify and prioritise the major risk to safety or production loss/high-cost contributors for the process fixed plant equipment across our Olympic Dam operations in the Surface Maintenance Services department. You will interface with a diverse group of stakeholders and departments where you will need to be able to demonstrate your problem solving ability and influencing skills to identify right-fix solutions and support the ongoing integrity of the operations.

 

This role is available in multiple roster options including residential in Roxby Downs (5/2 roster) and FIFO from Adelaide (5/2:4/3 Roster).

 

In this role you will:

  • Provide overall integrity governance for tank assets to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable operation.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance with WHS requirements, internal standards, and applicable industry codes.
  • Oversee inspection strategies, condition monitoring, and remediation planning to manage degradation risks.
  • Conduct fitness for service assessments and remaining life evaluations to support informed decision making.
  • Provide forward looking CAPEX and end of life advice, including major repair or replacement planning.
  • Work alongside Reliability to optimise maintenance strategies and eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Lead or support failure investigations and ensure effective remediation and risk reduction.
  • Provide technical assurance to projects, modifications, and shutdown activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and registers to support audit, assurance, and Major Hazard Facility (MHF) obligations.

 

About You

 

You will have:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Structural, Civil or equivalent discipline)
  • Experience working in operations, manufacturing, engineering consulting environments, or projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with tank inspection, defect remediation, and integrity management across the asset lifecycle.
  • Proven capability managing a range of tank types, including thickeners, rubber lined tanks, fibreglass tanks, large capacity steel tanks, and tanks containing corrosive or hazardous substances.
  • Strong working knowledge of API 650, API 653, and API 579 and their application in tank integrity assurance.
  • Ability to perform Fitness for Service assessments (Level 1 and Level 2) in accordance with API standards.
  • Experience applying risk based asset integrity management principles to inspection planning, remediation prioritisation, and capital allocation decisions.
  • Trusted advisor to asset owners, providing practical, risk informed recommendations balancing safety, compliance, cost, and operational continuity.
