About the Role:

 

This internship provides hands-on experience in applying data science techniques to real-world business challenges. The intern will support data sourcing, validation, and testing activities, ensuring data quality and integrity for analysis. They will also work on data mining and analysis, leverage various tools, build and implement predictive models, develop algorithms, and run simulations to generate actionable insights.

 

The role requires the ability to translate complex data into meaningful recommendations that drive business outcomes. The ideal candidate is passionate about uncovering solutions hidden within large datasets and enjoys collaborating with diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams to improve performance and decision-making.

 

As a Data Science Intern, you will perform tasks of varying complexity under guidance, gaining practical experience in data science and analytics while contributing to meaningful business outcomes.

 

Key accountabilities include:

 

  • Support data sourcing and validation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of datasets used for analysis and modeling.
  • Assist in data preparation and testing by cleaning, transforming, and verifying data for use in predictive models and simulations.
  • Apply data mining and analysis techniques to identify patterns, trends, and insights that inform decision-making.
  • Contribute to model development and algorithm testing, supporting implementation and performance evaluation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Prepare simple reports and visualizations that communicate findings clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
  • Participate in team workshops and presentations, learning how to tell compelling stories with data.
  • Gain exposure to real-world projects, on-the-job training, and mentorship from experienced professionals.

 

About You:

 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Must be available to work full-time (five days a week – Hybrid).
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken).
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, or SQL.
  • Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency in standard applications (e.g., MS Office, Outlook, Teams).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) for data storage and processing.
  • Ability to design, refine, and apply effective AI prompts.
  • Basic knowledge of data analysis and visualization concepts.
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts and basic algorithms.
  • Understands the capabilities, limitations, and practical business applications of generative AI technologies.
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions.
  • Experience with data cleaning, validation, and testing in academic or project settings.
  • Strong time management skills to ensure timely delivery of tasks.
  • Willingness to take initiative and drive personal development during the internship.
