About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the Lead, Tax Operations, the Intern will assist with tax accounting, indirect tax, and withholding tax (WHT) compliance activities for the Americas and APAC portfolios. You will work closely with Specialists and Leads to ensure activities are executed accurately, on time, and in accordance with internal controls and policies.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support in preparing tax calculation and tax reporting working papers during monthly/quarterly closes and filings;
- Assist with indirect tax compliance (e.g., data validation, variance checks, draft returns and supporting documentation);
- Validate and prepare WHT certificates and supporting packs including tracking status and maintaining records for audit readiness;
- Support tax account reconciliations and follow up on open items with relevant stakeholders;
- Perform quality checks on source data from ERPs and tax tools, flag data anomalies and assist with remediation;
- Contribute to process documentation (SOPs/checklists) and continuous improvement initiatives, including simple automation or template refinements;
- Assist with audit support (internal/external) by organizing evidence requests and preparing standardized extracts;
About You:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in accounting; interest in tax accounting, indirect tax, and WHT.
- Detail‑oriented, analytical, and comfortable handling large data sets.
- Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, lookups); willingness to learn additional tools.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills, Spanish is a plus.
- A proactive problem‑solver who is curious, asks questions, documents learnings, and meets deadlines.
