About the Role
Reporting to the Contracts & Risk Manager of GBS Order to Cash team, this role will be responsible for leading the Outbound Contracts team to ensure the day-to-day effectiveness and reliability of our commodity and maritime contract activities.
You will be accountable for operational performance, control effectiveness, and continuous improvement of contract execution processes, while building strong partnerships across Commercial and GBS stakeholder
- Lead the Outbound Contracts team to deliver timely, accurate, and compliant contract execution aligned to defined KPIs and service standards
- Own end-to-end performance of contract execution activities, including reporting, issue resolution, and risk management
- Design, implement, and sustain preventive and detective controls, ensuring strong governance and audit readiness
- Act as control owner for key contract execution processes, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk frameworks and internal controls.
- Drive continuous improvement of processes, controls, and reporting to enhance reliability, transparency, and efficiency
- Lead and support improvement initiatives, ensuring benefits are realized without disruption to BAU operations
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across Commercial and GBS to align priorities and service expectations
- Lead, coach, and develop team members to uplift capability, accountability, and performance outcomes
About You
- Solid grasp of commodity and maritime contracting processes and the markets they operate inDemonstrates strong leadership and influencing skills to engage with teams and with senior stakeholders
- Good understanding of contract lifecycle management and maintenance through enterprise systems
- Proven ability to lead change and drive team to high performance outcomes
- Driving continuous improvement to enhance the safety, effectiveness and efficiency of BHP systems and processes
- Knowledge and application of decision analysis techniques and modelling relating to market risk control models
- Ability to make sound decisions in ambiguous and high-pressure situations, balancing risk, compliance, and commercial outcomes
- Strong problem-solving capability with experience managing complex operational issues and driving sustainable resolutions
