About the Role
Are you a seasoned engineering leader ready to make a global impact?
Join our MECoE Engineering Governance & Technical Stewardship (G&TS) team in a pivotal Fixed-Term opportunity that spans 14 months. This role offers the chance to lead a high-performing technical team and influence global standards in Asset Integrity.
Reporting to the Manager Engineering G&TS, the Lead Engineering – Asset Integrity will play a key leadership role in shaping and governing global engineering standards. You’ll drive innovation, foster collaboration, and ensure the integrity of our assets across diverse operations.
In this influential and high-impact role, you will:
- Lead a global team of expert engineers focused on Asset Integrity management.
- Develop, govern, and assure compliance with global engineering standards, processes, and systems.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across Functions, Assets, and Operations.
- Provide expert technical support to global teams implementing engineering requirements.
- Champion continuous improvement in standards, systems, and technology.
- Drive innovation and challenge conventional thinking in a complex business environment.
- Uphold the BHP Charter, Global Standards, Code of Conduct, and statutory obligations.
About You
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent) preferably Electrical, Mechanical, or Structural.
- Deep expertise in governance, assurance, risk management, and Asset Integrity.
- Proven leadership experience in managing high-performing technical engineering teams.
- Experience in Asset or Operational Engineering/Maintenance is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Asset Management, strategy development, maintenance planning, reliability, or production processes.
- Strong communication, influence, and stakeholder engagement skills within a matrix organisation.
- A track record of driving strategic change and delivering results in complex environments.
- High technical aptitude, critical thinking, and strategic decision-making skills.
- A passion for continuous improvement and excellence.
- A collaborative leadership style that builds trust and transparency across all levels.
Location
This role can be based at our Australian corporate offices in Adelaide, Brisbane, or Perth.
You will work Monday to Friday, with site travel required from time to time. We encourage team collaboration, and our corporate office teams are expected to work from the office at least three days per week.
