The Challenge Ahead
Join our MECoE MinAms Asset Management team and lead a high-performing Engineering team that shapes and governs global engineering standards across Minerals Americas.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead a global team of expert engineers specializing in Asset Integrity Management, Process Safety, and Engineering Information Management.
- Govern, collaborate on the development of, and ensure compliance with global engineering standards, processes, and systems across Minerals Americas Operations.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across Functions, Assets, and Operations.
- Provide expert technical support and guidance to asset teams implementing engineering requirements.
- Champion continuous improvement of standards, systems, and technology.
- Drive innovation and challenge conventional thinking in a complex business environment.
- Uphold the BHP Charter, Global Standards, Code of Conduct and statutory obligations.
What We Expect From You
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent) preferably Electrical, Mechanical, or Structural.
- At least 15 years relevant in industry &/or mining engineering teams.
- At least 10 years relevant industry &/or mining experience in Field.
- Deep expertise in governance, assurance, risk management, engineering, Asset Integrity and process safety.
- Proven leadership experience in managing high-performing technical engineering teams.
- Experience in Asset or Operational Engineering/Maintenance is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Asset Management, strategy development, maintenance planning, reliability, or production processes.
- Strong communication, influence, and stakeholder engagement skills within a matrix organisation.
- A track record of driving strategic change and delivering results in complex environments.
- High technical aptitude, critical thinking, and strategic decision-making skills.
- A passion for continuous improvement and excellence.
- A collaborative leadership style that builds trust and transparency across all levels.
