About the Role

 

As the Lead Mine Scheduling you will be responsible for the Dragline and Dozer Push design function at our Goonyella Riverside Mine. You will play a pivotal role driving technical leadership, continuous improvement, and governance in guiding the short-term and tactical mine direction. You will be responsible for leading, developing, and coaching a team of Mine Scheduling Specialists ensuring safe, accurate, and executable designs that enable delivery against SRF and Budget targets.

Key Responsibilities

 

· Lead the execution of the site’s dragline design strategy across Budget, Short Range Forecast (SRF), Weekly, and 24hr planning horizons.

· Prepare and present pit designs, dig sequencing, and reserves. Ensure tactical direction is fit-for-purpose, clearly communicated, and aligned across Planning, Survey, Geotechnical, and Production teams.

· Drive performance and continuous improvement through management of performance, problem solving, and improvement projects.

· Strengthen team capability through people development and training on dragline and dozer-specific principles and software.

· Comply with relevant policies, Our Requirements (ORs), and the SHMS.

About You

 

We’re looking for a passionate mining professional with a strong background in open-cut coal operations and a specialisation in dragline and dozer push planning and optimisation.

 

Essential Requirements:

 

· Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.

· Minimum 5 years’ experience in mine planning, with a strong focus on dragline and dozer operations.

· Deep understanding of dragline mechanics and sequencing.

· Proficiency in mine planning softwares such as Deswik, Vulcan, Spry, XPAC.

· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross-functional collaboration.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Demonstrated commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

 

Highly Regarded:

 

· Prior experience in a lead or senior mine planning role.

· Exposure to fleet management systems and real-time operational data analysis.
