About the Role
Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent, as the Lead Mining Engineer, you will be responsible for coaching and guiding your team to provide clear direction to the execution teams through mine designs and schedules for the 0 to 12 week time frame. The role is critical guiding the success of one of the largest mining fleets in Australia.
In this role you will:
- Use your leadership skills to coach a large team of mining engineers;
- Communicate the designs to Production Coordinators and Operations;
- Identify and implement Production Planning improvement initiatives;
- Utilise tools in mine planning to ensure safe operations;
- Build cross-functional relationships with the Operational sub-functions and interact extensively with the Planning sub-functions.
About You
As the successful candidate, you will have a tertiary education background in Mining Engineering (or Civil) with previous experience working at an operations level with experience working in mine planning teams.
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- demonstrated ability to build relationships across departments and communicate at all levels
- A strong working knowledge of design tools (Deswik/Vulcan), SPRY, Microsoft Office, Xact software packages are desirable
