About the Role

We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Lead Mining Engineer to join our Mine Planning team at Saraji Coal Mine. Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Planning, you will assist the planning and execution of safe mine operations through the collaborative development of detailed designs and production schedules.

This is a great opportunity to develop and hone your mine planning and leadership skills as well as further develop a deep understanding of the key value drivers of a large complex open cut mining operation.

The position is based at Saraji Mine and offers a choice of flexible travel arrangements with 4/3 roster.

Key accountabilities:

  • Generate execution designs & schedules across the short term planning horizon;
  • Pursue continuous improvement opportunities throughout your routine work;
  • Build and establish close working relationships with key site and external stakeholders; and
  • Ensure the implementation and compliance of all safety, environmental, and legislative requirements.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be safety focused, team oriented and enjoy continuous improvement and driving for results. The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in a similar role working for an organisation in the mining sector.

Qualifications and skill set:


  • Bachelor Degree (or above) qualified in Engineering or tertiary related discipline;
  • Demonstrated technical engineering skills proficiency;
  • Ability to embrace change and strive in a continuous improvement environment; and
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
